Bengaluru: Voting is going on today for the by-elections in Belgaum Lok Sabha seat and Maski and Basavakalyan assembly seats in Karnataka. Election officials gave information about this. Polling started in these constituencies at seven in the morning, which will run till seven in the evening. A total of 22,68,038 voters can exercise franchise at 3,197 polling stations.
There are 11.37 lakh males and 11.22 lakh females among the total voters in these three constituencies. 10 candidates in Belgaum, 12 in Basavakalyan and eight in Maski are trying their luck. The counting of votes will take place on May 2.

Officials said that necessary rules are being followed to protect Covid-19 during the election and the last hour of polling is reserved for voters infected with the corona virus and symptomatic.
Here, the fifth phase of voting in West Bengal today
Here, in the fifth phase of the West Bengal assembly elections, voting is going on in 45 seats today. In this phase, a total of 1.13 crore voters have to decide the political fate of 319 candidates including Siliguri Mayor Ashok Bhattacharya, State Minister Bratya Buss and BJP’s Samik Bhattacharya. Polling will be held till 6.30 pm today at 15,789 polling stations in 16 constituencies of North 24 Parganas, 8-8 in Purba Bardhaman and Nadia, seven in Jalpaiguri, five in Darjeeling and one constituency in Kalimpong district.
