Puducherry: Congress government falls, CM Narayanasamy resigns after losing confidence vote in assembly

Puducherry FLoor Test: After the floor test, the assembly speaker announced that the government has lost its majority. The Narayanasamy government came into a minority after the resignation of five Congress MLAs and one MLA of the ally DMK.

Puducherry FLoor Test: After the floor test in the Union Territory of Puducherry, the Congress government has fallen. Chief Minister Narayanasamy lost the trust vote in the assembly. Even before the floor test, Congress MLAs walked out of the assembly. Now CM Narayanasamy has submitted his resignation to the Lieutenant Governor. Assembly elections are to be held in Puducherry this year.

Narayanasamy government was in minority

After the floor test, the assembly speaker announced that the government had lost its majority. The Narayanasamy government came into a minority after the resignation of five Congress MLAs and one MLA of the ally DMK.

Recently, Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi was relieved of responsibility and the Telangana Governor Tamilisai Saundarajan has been entrusted with the responsibility of Puducherry. After which on 22 February, Chief Minister Narayanasamy was asked to give a floor test. President’s rule has been imposed in the Union Territory of Puducherry.

Let me tell you that when the Congress came to power in 2016 by winning the assembly elections, it had a total of 15 MLAs along with 4 of the DMK and one independent candidate.

Narayanasamy attacks central government

Earlier in the Assembly, CM Narayanasamy said that former Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi and the Central Government, along with the opposition, tried to bring down the government. Because of the solidarity of our legislators, we have been running the government for the last five years. The Center has cheated the people of Puducherry by not giving funds despite requests from our side.
