Another accused has been arrested by the Delhi Police in connection with the violence at the Red Fort at a tractor rally taken out on 26 January during the farmers’ agitation against the agricultural law. The arrested accused Jaspreet Singh alias Sunny has been arrested on Monday. He is alleged to have climbed the dome of the Red Fort on 26 January and while doing so he had a steel rod in his hand. Accused Jaspreet (29) son Raghubir Singh is a resident of Swaroop Nagar, Delhi.
Jaspreet was standing behind Maninder
Jaspreet is the person who stood behind the accused Maninder Singh who was arrested earlier. Maninder is the same person whose video waving two swords on the Red Fort went viral. Recently, he too has been arrested from Delhi and he too is a resident of Swaroop Nagar.
When the crowd entered the ramparts of the Red Fort, Jaspreet was the only one who climbed one of the domes on either side of the Red Fort ramparts. He was also making gestures while holding the steel rod there.
Police released and photos of 20 miscreants
On Saturday, the Delhi Police released photos of 20 more miscreants in connection with the violence on the Red Fort during the tractor rally on 26 January. In the past, police have also released photos of 200 miscreants.
Police officials say that their photographs have been released only after a lot of scientific investigation and thorough cleanup. Police officials say that police are reaching those people who are being identified after investigation. Photographs of the accused are being released in the event that they are not detected. Senior officers of the Delhi Police said that after the violence on 26 January, the SIT of the Crime Branch investigated the case.
For this, photos, videos and CCTV footage of that day were collected. With this help, the accused are being identified continuously.
