IPL crisis: Balaji Covid positive, match between CSK-Rajasthan Royals canceled

The match has been canceled after L Balaji was found to be Covid positive. According to the Board's Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), a positive player has to be isolated for six days and during this time, three reports of his RT PCR should be negative.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Chennai Super Kings and (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday has been canceled. The match has been canceled after L Balaji was found to be Covid positive. According to the Board’s Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), if a person comes in contact with an infected person, he or she will have to isolate for six days and during this time three reports of his RT PCR should be negative.

All the players of the team are in isolate

An official of the Cricket Board of India (BCCI) said that the match between CSK and Royals at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday was canceled. Under SOP rules will be held at later dates. Balaji came in contact with all the players and hence all of them have to stay in isolate. They should be tested every day. “

When CSK CEO Kashi Vishwanathan was contacted, he said that CSK has informed BCCI about Balaji’s RT PCR result. He told that we have informed that Balaji’s test has come positive and as per SOP our players have gone on segregation.

The match was canceled for the second time

This is the second match in the IPL whose schedule will be rescheduled. Earlier on Monday, his match against Royal Challengers Bangalore was postponed after two Kolkata Knight Riders players Varun Chakraborty and Sandeep Warrier were found positive. There will be a match between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad in Delhi.
