In his retirement letter, Vinay Kumar thanked all the senior players and wrote, ‘My career progressed by living and playing among players like Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid, MS Dhoni, Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir. When I used to play for Mumbai Indians, the guidance of Sachin Tendulkar was also very common. He said, ‘I am very fortunate to be able to play for my country. There were many memorable moments in my career, which I will not forget in my lifetime. I would also like to thank Karnataka Cricket Association for giving me this opportunity. This is where I got the chance to play for the country.
If we talk about Vinay Kumar’s career, he has played only one Test match for India. In which he got a wicket. At the same time, Vinay Kumar took a total of 38 wickets in 31 ODIs for the Indian team in One Day International matches. He played a total of 9 T20 matches for India, taking 10 wickets in his name. Vinay Kumar has played 100 matches home matches for Karnataka. He has also been a part of teams like Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL.
