New Delhi: Amidst the havoc of Corona, many hospitals are still complaining of lack of oxygen in Delhi. Meanwhile, once again a hearing was held in the Delhi High Court on the issue of lack of oxygen.
During this time, the court asked the Center to give reasons why contempt proceedings should not be initiated against Delhi for not serving the order on supply of oxygen to Delhi.
The High Court made a sharp remark and said to the Center that you can hide your head in the sand like an ostrich, we will not do this.
The High Court rejected the plea of the Center that given the existing medical infrastructure, Delhi is not entitled to 700 metric tons of medical oxygen. The court said that the April 30 order of the Supreme Court shows that it directed the Center to provide 700 metric tons of oxygen and not just 490 metric tons.
The court said that every day we are witnessing this frightening reality that people are not getting oxygen or ICU beds in hospitals, the number of beds has been reduced due to low gas supply.
The High Court said that there is an order of the Supreme Court, now we are also asking that the Center should supply 700 metric tons of oxygen to Delhi every day.
