NEW DELHI: The Corona control vaccine will take four more years to become available to all, says Adar Poonawalla, CEO of Serum Institute of India (SII), Pune.
“As soon as the vaccine development succeeds, there is no preparation for mass production in the rush to make vaccination available to all across the world in a short time. It will take at least 4 to 5 years for everyone in the world to get a corona-control vaccinated vaccine easily.”
SII has already partnered with five international pharmaceutical companies for vaccination development. Of these, only 50% of the 100 crore doses are made based on the vaccine developed by Astrazeneca and Novawax.
