Caribbean legend and stormy batsman Chris Gayle has once again found a place in the national team. Gayle, 41, has been included in the West Indies squad for the upcoming T20 series against Sri Lanka.
Left-handed batsman Gayle played his last international T20 match against England in March 2019. In this match, he scored just five runs in four balls, in which the entire West Indies team was piled on for 45 runs. Although Gayle remained out of the national team after that, despite this, he performed brilliantly in different T20 leagues and scored many centuries and half-centuries.
Talk about the three-match T20 series against Sri Lanka, while Kieron Pollard will take over the captaincy of the team and Nicholas Pooran will be the vice-captain. Apart from these, many old players also returned to the team. The West Indies Cricket Board has termed the team selection as part of their preparations for the T20 World Cup to be held this year.
